PRIVACY POLICY

Hooker & Heijden is committed to adhere to the strictest codes of confidentiality and the correct treatment of your personal data. Hooker & Heijden is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), which sets out a number of principles concerning the privacy of individuals.

Collection of your personal information

Your name and contact details will not be passed on to any third parties, and cannot be viewed by anyone except members of staff of Hooker & Heijden, and members of staff at the company that is recruiting or representing that vacancy.

You have a right to access your personal information, subject to exceptions allowed by law. If you would like to do so, please let us know. You may be required to put your request in writing for security reasons. Hooker & Heijden reserves the right to charge a fee for searching for, and providing access to, your information on a per request basis.

How we use your personal information

Your personal details, including your name, e-mail address and resumé, are held and used by us for the following purposes:

  • for taking into consideration any applications made by you to vacancies advertised by Hooker & Heijden;
  • for matching your skills and experience with job vacancies or to assist us in finding a position that is most suitable for you; and
  • to inform you of events, services, news and industry updates and possible job opportunities. Where we do so, you will be able to unsubscribe from such communications.
  • to generate an anonymised profile for you on myelevatorpitch.com.au, allowing employers to request to connect with you about their career opportunities. Your name and contact details will not be released to any employer through this platform unless and until you accept a specific connection request.

It is possible that Hooker & Heijden could merge or be acquired by another business. If this happens, we may share the information that relates to you with the new owners of the business and their advisers. You will be sent notice of such an event. Other than in these circumstances, we do not and will not disclose your information to other parties without your consent.

Use of your personal information

For each visitor to reach the site, we expressively collect the following non-personally identifiable information, including but not limited to browser type, version and language, operating system, pages viewed while browsing the site, page access times and referring website address. This collected information is used solely internally for the purpose of gauging visitor traffic, trends and delivering personalised content to you while you are at this site.

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our Privacy Policy. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will use them for these new purposes only. Data collected from the time of the policy change forward will adhere to our updated practices.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Hooker & Heijden reserve the right to make amendments to this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make any changes, we will post these changes on our website so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information, and whether we will disclose it to a third party.

Declaration:

1. I declare that the information supplied by me is, to the best of my knowledge, true, accurate and complete in all respects. I acknowledge that I will not hold Hooker & Heijden responsible for any false information, omission or misstatements, which I have made in the information provided.

2. I understand that if I do not provide information or information provided is insufficient or inaccurate, Hooker & Heijden, or its related bodies corporate, will be limited in its ability to provide its services, or enable full consideration for employment opportunities with client organisations. Further, I understand that my application may be rejected, and my employment may be terminated if any false information, omissions, or misrepresentations are subsequently discovered.

3. I understand that if placed in temporary or contract employment, taxation, employment and immigrations laws may require the collection of bank details, tax file number, work entitlement details, and may require the completion of a health and medical questionnaire.

4. I authorise Hooker & Heijden to confidentially disclose information held about me to organisations as outlined in the Privacy Policy (attached) as I am advised of specific or potential opportunities.

5. I understand that I am entitled to access my personal information held by Hooker & Heijden, except for any exemptions provided under Privacy Laws or other relevant legislation.

6. I authorise Hooker & Heijden, or its related entities to approach any training or education organisation and/or a professional association to confirm my qualifications or membership as required.

Withdrawal of Consent:

1. If at any time you withdraw your consent, you may opt out of this agreement by putting in writing your desire to do so, by emailing contactus@hookerheijden.com.au. After withdrawing consent, we will have your personal information removed from our database within a reasonable time frame of receiving your email request.

Use of information and Authority to Represent:

I understand and agree that;

a) personal information is collected for the purpose of assisting in obtaining work, assisting in career performance or management, and it may include the collection of sensitive information, as defined under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth);

b) all information that I provide to Hooker & Heijden will be held in the strictest of confidence, and may only be accessed by Hooker & Heijden or related bodies corporate;

c) I may be contacted from time to time by staff for the purpose of assisting me to find or retain work or to further my career developments;

d) Hooker & Heijden will be authorised to forward my details to a client or to interested clients where my skills may be applied, immediately on receipt of a potential job opportunity.

e) Hooker & Heijden integrates with myelevatorpitch.com.au ("Elevator Pitch"), and an anonymised profile based on the information I provide may be generated on that platform; this profile allows employers to request to connect with me about their career opportunities; my information will remain private and will not be released to any employer unless and until I accept a specific connection request, at which point my name and contact details will be released to that employer; and I understand that I may be eligible for Elevator Pitch rewards as a result of my participation.

f) Hooker & Heijden operates as an introduction business, and may earn a commission or fee for introducing me to an employer or partner, including where that introduction results in a placement, engagement or referral.

Elevator Pitch Integration:

Hooker & Heijden has partnered with myelevatorpitch.com.au ("Elevator Pitch") to help connect candidates with employers seeking their skills and experience. Based on the information you provide, an anonymised profile that does not identify you by name or contact details may be generated for you on the Elevator Pitch platform, allowing interested employers to submit a request to connect with you about their career opportunities.

Your information remains private throughout this process. Your name and contact details will not be released to any employer unless and until you accept a specific connection request, at which point they will be released to that employer so they can contact you directly. You may also be eligible for Elevator Pitch rewards as a result of your participation.
